The Apollo Alliance is spreading the word about an important bill about to be debated. It is the Warner-Lieberman Climate Security Act. It is authored by Joe Lieberman (I) and John Warner (R).
According the email they sent out today, "the U.S. Senate next week takes a crucial step to accelerate America’s clean energy, good jobs economy when it opens debate on the Warner-Lieberman Climate Security Act. At its center is a proposal to systematically cut carbon emissions 66 percent by 2050, and to do so with a cap and trade market-based system for carbon emissions that by some estimates could raise over $300 billion annually for clean energy innovation and investment."
It is great to see the Republicans and former Democrats getting together on green energy production. However the email said that passage of the bill is unlikely, but I think it is more than a just a symbolic measure.
The actual bill can be read here.
